Jack Squirek Obituary, Death – age 64. Penny, whose maiden name was Lilly, has lost her spouse of 36 years. Jacob III (Elizabeth) and Cassandra McGovern (Brian) are blessed to have a father who is both kind and committed. Grandfather to Maeve McGovern and Jacob Stephen Squirek IV, who will be born later this year, cherished by both of them. Dedicated son of Jack S., who passed away, and Carol (née Pinard), her husband. With deep affection, the brother of David (LuAnn), Timothy, Mary Alice Hudak, and George.
Additional survivors include nieces, nephews, relatives, and a large number of close friends. Jack graduated from Cuyahoga Heights High School in 1977, Massanutten Military Academy in 1978, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1982. He is a member of the class of 1982 at the University of Illinois Union-Champaign. Jack was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the draft in 1982.
He went on to play with the Raiders for a number of exciting years. The Raiders won the Super Bowl 18 World Championship with a victory of 38–9 thanks in large part to his spectacular interception that he made in Super Bowl XVIII against the Washington Redskins. This interception will forever be inscribed in the annals of football history.
