Young the Giant is an American rock band formed in Irvine, California in 2004. The band's lineup includes Sameer Gadhia, Jacob Tilley, Eric Cannata, Payam Doostzadeh and François Comtois. Previously known as The Jakes, Young the Giant was signed to Roadrunner Records in 2009, and they released their debut album of the same name in 2010. The group's first three singles, “My Body,” “Cough Syrup,” and “Apartment,” have all appeared on the US Alternate Song charts.

Young the Giant's originator and lead singer is a well-known vocalist. Their second full-length album, Mind over Matter, debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200.
